The NXP TJA1057CT/0 is a Mantis-family high-speed CAN transceiver designed to interface a CAN protocol controller with a physical two-wire CAN bus. Operating from a 4.5V to 5.5V supply, it supports reliable CAN FD communication at data rates of up to 5Mbit/s.
The TJA1057C variant features reduced propagation delay to support larger CAN network topologies. It provides Normal and Silent operating modes and integrates TXD dominant time-out, undervoltage detection and thermal protection. When unpowered, the transceiver disengages from the CAN bus to prevent an inactive node from loading the network.
The device offers low electromagnetic emissions and high electromagnetic immunity. Its CANH and CANL pins support ±42V limiting voltage and 8kV ESD protection. AEC-Q100 qualification, RoHS compliance and halogen-free construction make it suitable for automotive ECUs, body-control modules, gateways, powertrain electronics, industrial automation and other high-speed CAN or CAN FD systems.
The TJA1057CT/0 is supplied in an 8-pin SO8/SOT96-1 package with body dimensions of approximately 4.9 × 3.9 × 1.75mm and supports a virtual junction-temperature range of −40°C to +150°C. This variant does not include a separate VIO pin; when connected to a 3.3V microcontroller, the controller I/O pins must be 5V tolerant.
