The Microchip MCP3208T-CI/SL is a 12-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter with an integrated sample-and-hold circuit. It can be configured for eight single-ended analog inputs or four pseudo-differential input pairs and communicates through an industry-standard SPI-compatible serial interface.
The MCP3208 operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V single supply. Maximum sampling rate is 100kSPS at 5V and 50kSPS at 2.7V. An external VREF input determines the analog full-scale range, providing flexibility for sensor, measurement and data-acquisition designs.
The device specifies ±1 LSB maximum DNL, while the C accuracy grade provides ±2 LSB maximum INL. Its low-power CMOS architecture draws a maximum active current of approximately 400µA at 5V, with approximately 500nA typical standby current.
In the MCP3208T-CI/SL ordering code, “T” indicates tape-and-reel packaging, “C” specifies the ±2 LSB INL grade, “I” specifies the -40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range, and “SL” identifies the 16-lead 150mil SOIC package. Microchip currently lists the MCP3208 family as In Production.
