The DLPC3439CZEZ from Texas Instruments is a DLP® digital display controller designed specifically for the DLP4710 0.47-inch 1080p digital micromirror device (DMD). It provides digital image processing and a multifunctional interface between system electronics and the DMD, enabling compact, low-power Full HD projection display solutions. Two DLPC3439 controllers are required to drive one DLP4710 DMD.
The controller supports input image resolutions up to 1080p (1920 × 1080). Input frame rates can reach 120Hz, with up to 60Hz at 1080p resolution. Its 24-bit input pixel interface supports a parallel interface protocol with a pixel clock of up to 155MHz and multiple input pixel data formats.
Integrated image-processing capabilities include the IntelliBright™ suite, Content Adaptive Illumination Control (CAIC), Local Area Brightness Boost (LABB), image scaling, color-coordinate adjustment, programmable degamma, active power management, color-space conversion, and 4:2:2 to 4:4:4 chroma interpolation.
The DLPC3439 also supports external Flash memory, embedded frame memory (eDRAM), I²C device configuration, programmable splash screens, programmable LED current control, and automatic DMD parking during power down. It is designed to operate as part of a chipset with the DLP4710 DMD and a DLPA3000 or DLPA3005 PMIC/LED driver.
The DLPC3439CZEZ is supplied in a 201-pin NFBGA (ZEZ) package measuring 13mm × 13mm and operates over a -30°C to +85°C temperature range. Typical applications include pico projectors, mobile projectors, smart-home displays, DLP signage and mobile smart TVs.
