The STMicroelectronics ST2378ETTR is an 8-bit dual-supply bidirectional voltage-level translator designed to interface low-voltage ASICs, PLDs, microcontrollers, and higher-voltage digital systems. Its transmission-gate-based architecture allows each channel to transfer data independently in either direction without requiring a direction-control pin.
The device supports a wide operating range, with VL from 1.71V up to VCC and VCC from 1.71V to 5.5V. For normal operation, VCC should be set higher than VL. A guaranteed 13Mbps data rate is specified across the operating voltage range, while propagation delay can be as low as 15ns maximum under specified 1.8V-to-5.5V conditions at 85°C.
ST2378ETTR supports both totem-pole and open-drain signaling, allowing use with interfaces such as I²C. The OE pin is 5V tolerant and enables a disable mode that reduces current consumption to below 1µA. Maximum quiescent current at 85°C is specified as 100µA on the VL supply and 10µA on the VCC supply.
The VCC-side I/O lines provide greater than ±15kV HBM ESD protection, improving robustness for externally connected digital interfaces. The ST2378ETTR operates from -40°C to +85°C and is supplied in a 20-pin TSSOP package. ST currently lists the part as Active and in volume production, with Industrial grade and Ecopack3 compliance.
