The Toshiba TC358870XBG is an HDMI-to-MIPI DSI video interface bridge IC designed for high-resolution display systems. It converts HDMI 1.4 video input to MIPI DSI output and is intended for LCD displays and other consumer or industrial display applications, including head-mounted displays, mobile equipment, gaming accessories, and wearable devices.
The device supports HDMI 1.4 video formats up to 3840 × 2160 at 30Hz, as well as 2560 × 1600 at 60Hz and 1920 × 1080 at 120Hz. Its maximum clock rate is 297MHz, enabling high-resolution and high-refresh-rate video conversion.
Video output is provided through an 8-lane MIPI DSI interface, while I²S and TDM audio outputs are also supported. The device uses multiple supply domains, including 1.2V for MIPI, 1.1V for Core/PLL, 3.3V for HDMI, and 3.3V for I/O.
The TC358870XBG is housed in an 80-ball FBGA package measuring 7 × 7mm with a 0.65mm ball pitch. Toshiba’s current 2026 HDMI bridge lineup lists the newer TC358871XBG for 4K HDMI-to-MIPI DSI applications rather than the TC358870XBG, so supply and lifecycle status should be confirmed before selecting the older device for a new design.
