The 24LC128T-I/ST from Microchip Technology is a 128Kbit I2C-compatible serial EEPROM organized as 16K × 8 bits. It provides reliable nonvolatile storage for configuration parameters, calibration data, device settings, and other information that must be retained when system power is removed.
The device operates from a 2.5V to 5.5V supply and supports an I2C clock frequency of up to 400kHz. Three hardware address inputs, A0, A1, and A2, allow up to eight devices to share the same I2C bus, providing a convenient way to expand system storage capacity.
The 24LC128T-I/ST supports both byte and page write operations and includes a 64-byte page write buffer. Maximum write cycle time is 5ms, while a dedicated WP pin provides hardware write protection to help prevent unintended changes to stored data.
The EEPROM is rated for more than 1 million erase/write cycles and offers data retention exceeding 200 years. The 24LC128T-I/ST is supplied in an 8-pin TSSOP package, operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and uses tape-and-reel packaging for automated assembly.
Typical applications include industrial controls, instrumentation, smart appliances, communication equipment, sensor modules, data acquisition systems, and embedded products requiring dependable parameter storage.
