The ADAU1701JSTZ-RL from Analog Devices is a highly integrated SigmaDSP® digital audio processor combining a 28-/56-bit DSP, two Σ-Δ ADCs, four Σ-Δ DACs and microcontroller-like control interfaces in a single device. Its DSP delivers 50 MIPS and supports audio functions including equalization, crossover, bass enhancement, multiband dynamics processing, delay compensation and speaker correction.

The two integrated ADCs provide 100dB SNR and -83dB THD+N, while the four DACs provide 104dB SNR and -90dB THD+N. The device offers approximately 98.5dB analog-input-to-analog-output dynamic range, making it suitable for high-quality embedded and consumer audio systems.

Flexible serial audio ports support I²S-compatible, left-justified, right-justified and TDM formats, with sampling rates up to 192kHz. Device control is available through I²C or a 4-wire SPI interface, while 12 multipurpose pins can support GPIO, auxiliary ADC inputs and serial audio functions.

The ADAU1701 supports standalone Self-Boot operation from an external serial EEPROM, allowing complete audio-processing systems to operate without a host microcontroller in suitable designs. A four-input auxiliary ADC enables analog control functions, while ADI’s SigmaStudio® graphical development environment provides an intuitive method for creating and tuning DSP signal flows.

The device uses a 1.8V digital core supply and 3.3V analog supply, with an on-chip regulator allowing operation from a single 3.3V system supply. The ADAU1701JSTZ-RL is rated for 0°C to +70°C, supplied in a 48-lead LQFP (ST-48) measuring 7 × 7mm, and packaged on a 13-inch reel with 2000 devices per reel.
