The ADUM1201ARZ-RL7 from Analog Devices is a dual-channel digital isolator based on ADI’s proprietary iCoupler® transformer isolation technology. It features 1/1 channel directionality, providing one signal channel in each direction across the isolation barrier for bidirectional digital communication between isolated domains.

The A-grade ADuM1201 version supports a maximum data rate of 1Mbps. For the exact ADUM1201ARZ-RL7, ADI specifies a maximum 150ns propagation delay at 5V and maximum 40ns pulse-width distortion, making it well suited to control, monitoring and moderate-speed serial interface isolation.

Both isolation sides operate independently from 2.7V to 5.5V, allowing the device to interface 3V/3.3V logic on one side with 5V logic on the other. This enables simultaneous digital isolation and 3V/5V level translation without a separate level-shifting IC.

The device is rated for 2500Vrms isolation for one minute under UL 1577 and provides a rated repetitive peak isolation voltage of 560VPEAK under the relevant DIN EN IEC 60747-17 specification. Common-mode transient immunity exceeds 25kV/µs, supporting reliable signal transmission in systems with significant ground-potential differences and fast common-mode transients.
