The ATTINY814-SSNR from Microchip Technology is an 8-bit tinyAVR 1-series microcontroller based on the AVR CPU with a hardware multiplier and a maximum operating frequency of 20MHz. The architecture combines low-power operation with an Event System and Core Independent Peripherals for efficient embedded control.
The ATtiny814 integrates 8KB of in-system self-programmable Flash, 512 bytes of SRAM, and 128 bytes of EEPROM. The specified endurance is 10,000 write/erase cycles for Flash and 100,000 cycles for EEPROM, with 40-year data retention at 55°C.
Integrated timing resources include one 16-bit TCA, one 16-bit TCB, one 12-bit TCD, and one 16-bit RTC. A window watchdog, six-channel Event System, Configurable Custom Logic, and automated CRC memory scanning are also provided.
Analog peripherals include a 10-bit ADC operating at up to 115ksps, with 10 ADC channels on the ATtiny814, plus an 8-bit DAC and an analog comparator. These resources support sensor acquisition, voltage monitoring, threshold detection, and basic mixed-signal control.
The integrated Peripheral Touch Controller provides six self-capacitance and nine mutual-capacitance channels, supporting capacitive buttons, sliders, wheels, and touch surfaces. Wake-on-touch and driven-shield functionality help improve touch performance in noisy or moisture-prone environments.
Communication peripherals include one USART, one SPI interface, and one TWI/I²C interface. The TWI peripheral supports standard 100kHz, fast 400kHz, and Fast-mode Plus operation up to 1MHz.
The ATtiny814 provides 12 programmable GPIO pins, all supporting external interrupt capability. Programming and debugging are performed through Microchip’s single-pin UPDI interface, reducing the number of MCU pins required for development access.
Supply operation extends from 1.8V to 5.5V, with maximum CPU frequency dependent on voltage: up to 5MHz from 1.8V, 10MHz from 2.7V, and the full 20MHz from 4.5V to 5.5V.
The exact ATTINY814-SSNR ordering option uses a 14-lead SOIC package, supports an operating-temperature range of −40°C to +105°C, and is supplied on tape and reel with 3,000 units per reel. Microchip currently lists the ATtiny814 family as In Production.
