The CM119B from C-Media Electronics is a highly integrated USB 2.0 Full-Speed audio single-chip solution designed for USB headsets, VoIP headsets, audio dongles, and other USB audio peripherals. It complies with USB Audio Device Class 1.0 and supports USB suspend/resume, remote wakeup, and HID-compatible volume control functions.
The device integrates a stereo 16-bit DAC, mono 16-bit ADC, headphone driver, microphone preamplifier, and microphone boost circuitry. Both playback and recording support 44.1kHz and 48kHz sampling rates, providing a cost-effective audio solution for voice communication, headsets, and general PC audio applications.
CM119B provides 8 GPIO pins and an external MCU serial control interface with data rates up to 400Kbps. It also supports an external EEPROM for customizing USB VID, PID, product strings, manufacturer strings, and volume settings. An S/PDIF output supports stereo PCM digital audio formats.
An integrated oscillator allows crystal-free operation, helping reduce external component count and BOM cost. The device can operate from a single external 5V supply with integrated internal regulators and includes anti-pop circuitry for improved audio behavior. CM119B is supplied in a 48-pin LQFP, 7 × 7mm package for USB headsets, USB sound cards, audio adapters, and similar applications.
