The Espressif ESP32-C3-WROOM-02-N4 is a general-purpose 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 Low Energy wireless module based on the ESP32-C3 SoC. It integrates a 32-bit single-core RISC-V processor, 4MB Quad SPI flash, a 40MHz crystal oscillator, and an onboard PCB antenna. Typical applications include smart home systems, industrial automation, consumer electronics, smart agriculture, POS devices, and low-power IoT sensor and data-logging equipment.
The integrated RISC-V CPU operates at up to 160MHz and includes 384KB ROM, 400KB SRAM with 16KB used for cache, and 8KB RTC SRAM. The N4 version incorporates 4MB of Quad SPI flash, and Espressif’s current datasheet identifies this variant with chip revision v0.4.
Wireless connectivity includes IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi in the 2.4GHz band, with 20MHz and 40MHz bandwidth support and data rates up to 150Mbps in 1T1R mode. The module also supports Bluetooth 5 Low Energy and Bluetooth Mesh, including 125Kbps, 500Kbps, 1Mbps and 2Mbps PHY modes.
The module exposes up to 15 GPIOs and supports SPI, UART, I²C, I²S, LED PWM, TWAI, USB Serial/JTAG, SAR ADC, temperature sensing, and timer functions. Recommended operating supply voltage is 3.0V to 3.6V, and the N4 version is rated for an ambient operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
The ESP32-C3-WROOM-02-N4 uses an onboard PCB antenna and measures approximately 18.0 × 20.0 × 3.2mm. It carries an MSL 3 rating and meets RoHS and REACH requirements. Espressif’s current v1.7 datasheet, released in March 2026, continues to list the N4 variant.
