The Microchip ATSAM3X8EA-AU is a high-performance 32-bit SAM3X microcontroller based on an Arm Cortex-M3 Revision 2.0 core operating at up to 84MHz. It integrates 512KB of dual-bank Flash memory and 96KB of primary SRAM organized as 64KB + 32KB. An additional 4KB NAND Flash Controller RAM buffer can be accessed by the processor when not used by the NFC, giving up to approximately 100KB of SRAM resources.

The device provides extensive connectivity, including 480Mbps USB 2.0 High-Speed Device/Mini Host, a 10/100 Ethernet MAC, two CAN controllers, and an HSMCI interface for SDIO, SD, and MMC. Multiple USART/UART, TWI/I²C-compatible, SPI, and SSC/I²S interfaces support industrial networking, gateways, automation, and advanced embedded-control applications.
