The Nexperia PESD15VS1UB is a unidirectional ESD protection diode designed to protect a single transmission or data line against electrostatic discharge and other transient events. It is housed in an ultra-compact SOD523 / SC-79 surface-mount package and is intended for computers, communications equipment, audio/video systems, and data-line protection. Nexperia currently lists the device as Production.
The device has a 15V maximum reverse standoff voltage. At IR = 5mA and 25°C, breakdown voltage is specified from 17.6V to 18.4V, with an 18V typical value. Reverse leakage current is only 1nA typical and 50nA maximum at 15V.
For an 8/20µs surge waveform, the PESD15VS1UB supports 5A peak pulse current and 160W peak pulse power. Maximum clamping voltage is 23V at 1A and 40V at 5A. It is rated to 30kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge and 10kV HBM.
Typical diode capacitance is 32pF at 1MHz and 0V, with a 70pF maximum rating. The operating ambient range is -55°C to +150°C, and the SOD523 package body measures approximately 1.2 × 0.8 × 0.6mm.
