The TDK InvenSense ICS-43434 is a high-performance digital MEMS microphone with a 24-bit I2S output interface, designed to connect directly to DSPs, microcontrollers and other digital processors without requiring an external audio codec.

The device integrates a MEMS acoustic sensor, signal conditioning circuitry, analog-to-digital converter, decimation and anti-aliasing filters, power management and an industry-standard I2S digital audio interface into a compact surface-mount package.

The ICS-43434 offers a typical 65dBA signal-to-noise ratio, -26dBFS ±1dB sensitivity, and an acoustic overload point of 120dB SPL. Its wide 60Hz to 20kHz frequency response enables accurate voice and broadband audio capture for a variety of consumer and embedded applications.

Multiple operating modes help balance audio performance and power consumption. In high-performance mode, typical current consumption is approximately 490µA, while low-power mode reduces typical current consumption to approximately 230µA. A sleep mode is also available for additional power savings.

The microphone operates from a 1.65V to 3.63V supply and features a compact 3.50 × 2.65 × 0.98 mm bottom-port surface-mount package, making it suitable for space-constrained portable and connected devices.
