The Texas Instruments DS90UB984RURRQ1 is an automotive-grade FPD-Link IV to DisplayPort (DP) / Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) bridge deserializer designed for high-resolution automotive display systems. It is compatible with VESA DisplayPort v1.4a and eDP v1.4b, supporting HBR3, HBR2, HBR and RBR link rates. The DisplayPort interface supports 1, 2 or 4 main-link lanes with data rates of up to 8.1Gbps per lane, making the device suitable for 4K-class display applications.
The FPD-Link IV interface supports selectable single- or dual-channel operation with data rates up to 13.5Gbps per channel and 27Gbps over dual channels. It supports 50Ω coaxial and STP/STQ cable interconnects and can carry video, audio and full-duplex control data, including I²C and GPIO, over the same FPD-Link connection.
Additional features include adaptive receiver equalization, spread-spectrum clocking, CRC and error diagnostics, ECC, BIST, voltage and temperature monitoring, plus SPI and UART pass-through support. The DS90UB984RURRQ1 is AEC-Q100 Grade 2 qualified, operates from -40°C to +105°C, and comes in an 88-pin VQFNP package measuring 12mm × 12mm. Typical applications include central information displays, digital instrument clusters, head-up displays, head units and rear-seat entertainment systems.
