The Texas Instruments ISO1050DUBR is a galvanically isolated CAN transceiver designed to meet the requirements of ISO 11898-2. It provides differential transmit and receive capability between a CAN controller and the CAN bus. Its logic and bus interfaces are separated by a silicon-dioxide (SiO₂) insulation barrier, with the DUB version providing 2500VRMS isolation.
The ISO1050 supports CAN signaling rates up to 1Mbps, with a typical total loop delay of 150ns and a maximum of 210ns. Additional features include fail-safe outputs, a TXD dominant time-out function, and 50kV/μs typical transient immunity, making it suitable for electrically noisy industrial and control environments.
The logic-side VCC1 supply operates from 3.0V to 5.5V, supporting both 3.3V and 5V microprocessors, while the CAN bus-side VCC2 supply operates from 4.75V to 5.25V. CANH and CANL provide -27V to +40V bus-fault protection, with a recommended -12V to +12V common-mode range. Overtemperature shutdown and undervoltage protection further improve system reliability.
The ISO1050DUBR is supplied in an 8-pin SOP (DUB) surface-mount package with nominal dimensions of approximately 9.5mm × 10.4mm including leads. It operates over an ambient temperature range of -55°C to +105°C and is currently listed by TI as an active, RoHS- and REACH-compliant device.
