TOP256YN Power Integrations TOPSwitch-HX 700V Offline Switcher IC TO-220-7C

The TOP256YN from Power Integrations is a highly integrated TOPSwitch-HX offline AC-DC switcher IC designed for efficient flyback power supplies. It integrates a 700V high-voltage power MOSFET, high-voltage switched current source, PWM controller, oscillator, thermal shutdown and fault protection circuitry, helping reduce external component count and simplify power supply design.

TOP256YN supports a universal 85–265VAC input range and a maximum switching frequency of 132kHz. Its integrated features include selectable current limiting, frequency jittering, soft-start, auto-restart and latching fault response. Protection functions include output overvoltage, undervoltage, short-circuit, open-loop, overload and over-temperature protection for improved system reliability.

Supplied in a through-hole TO-220-7C package, TOP256YN supports up to 119W open-frame or 60W enclosed output at 230VAC. With universal input, it supports up to 86W open-frame or 40W enclosed output. It is suitable for adapters, monitors, TVs, set-top boxes, printers, consumer electronics and industrial AC-DC power supplies.
