The Vishay VOL628A-2X001T is an AC-input phototransistor optocoupler integrating two inverse-parallel GaAs infrared LEDs optically coupled to a silicon planar phototransistor. It is designed for signal transmission between electrically isolated circuits and uses a 4-pin long-creepage LSOP mini-flat package. Typical applications include industrial controls, power supplies, AC-line monitoring, battery-powered equipment, and programmable logic controllers.
The VOL628A-2X001T is CTR Bin 2, providing a 63% to 125% current transfer ratio at IF = ±1mA and VCE = 5V. Typical input forward voltage is 1.16V at ±5mA, while the phototransistor output is rated for 80V collector-emitter voltage and 50mA continuous collector current.
At IC = 0.32mA and IF = ±1mA, collector-emitter saturation voltage is 0.25V typical and 0.4V maximum. Typical turn-on and turn-off times are 6µs and 5.5µs, respectively, while typical coupling capacitance is only 0.25pF.
The device provides 5000Vrms isolation test voltage with at least 8mm creepage and clearance distances and operates over an ambient temperature range of -55°C to +110°C. The X001 option includes VDE certification, while the T suffix denotes tape-and-reel packaging.
