BCM56870A0KFSBG Broadcom Trident3-X7 3.2Tb/s 32x100GbE Programmable Ethernet Switch ASIC

The BCM56870A0KFSBG from Broadcom is a StrataXGS Trident3-X7 programmable multi-layer Ethernet switch ASIC delivering up to 3.2Tb/s of switching bandwidth. Designed for high-performance data center, enterprise and service-provider networks, it supports configurations of up to 32x100GbE, 64x40GbE or 128x25GbE for high-density switching applications.

BCM56870A0KFSBG integrates up to 128x25Gbps SerDes with CL74, CL91 and CL108 FEC support. It features 32MB of fully shared on-chip packet buffer and large programmable forwarding databases for Layer 2 switching, Layer 3 routing, label switching and overlay forwarding. Supported tunneling and overlay technologies include VXLAN, GENEVE, NSH, MPLS, MPLS over GRE/UDP, GUE, ILA and PPPoE.

Its programmable dataplane enables new networking features to be introduced through in-field upgrades. Advanced telemetry capabilities include Flow Tracker, per-packet timestamping, microburst detection, latency and drop monitoring, trace capture and in-band telemetry. A PCIe Gen3 x4 host CPU interface is also integrated for efficient control-plane communication. The device is well suited for Top-of-Rack, aggregation and spine switches, modular switching platforms, enterprise core networks, data center interconnect and SDN solutions.
