The Power Integrations LNK626PG is an energy-efficient offline switcher IC from the LinkSwitch-CV family, designed for low-power constant-voltage AC-DC power supplies. Its primary-side regulation technology eliminates the need for an optocoupler and secondary-side constant-voltage control circuitry, helping simplify power supply designs and reduce component count, PCB space and overall system cost.

The LNK626PG integrates a 725 V power MOSFET, an ON/OFF control state machine, a self-biasing high-voltage current source, frequency jittering, cycle-by-cycle current limiting and hysteretic thermal shutdown in a single device. Frequency jittering helps reduce EMI filtering requirements, while auto-restart protection limits power delivery during output short-circuit, open-loop and other fault conditions.

Supporting an input voltage range of 85 to 265 VAC, the device is suitable for universal-input flyback and tapped-buck power supply designs. It supports output power levels of up to 10 W in universal-input open-frame designs and 8.5 W in universal-input enclosed designs, depending on thermal conditions and system efficiency.

The LNK626PG is supplied in a through-hole PDIP-8C package and is well suited for adapters, standby and auxiliary power supplies, DVD and set-top box power systems, home appliances, consumer electronics and industrial control equipment.
