The TEA19162T/2 from NXP Semiconductors is a high-efficiency Power Factor Correction (PFC) controller designed for resonant AC-DC power supply applications. It is intended to operate together with the TEA19161T LLC controller, providing coordinated start-up, protection, and energy-efficient power conversion.
The device supports a universal mains input range of 70 VAC to 276 VAC and integrates X-capacitor discharge, soft start, soft stop, and accurate boost voltage regulation. Its valley/zero-voltage switching operation and frequency limitation help reduce switching losses and improve overall system efficiency. In burst mode, supply current can be reduced to approximately 200 μA.
TEA19162T also integrates extensive protection functions, including overvoltage protection, open-loop protection, short-circuit protection, overtemperature protection, adjustable overcurrent protection, brown-in/brownout protection, and supply undervoltage protection. The device is suitable for efficient AC-DC power supplies, adapters, computing power systems, industrial power supplies, and other high-efficiency switched-mode power applications.
The TEA19162T family uses an 8-pin SO8 (SOT96-1) package, with a body size of approximately 4.9 × 3.9 × 1.75 mm.
