The CC2640R2FRHBR from Texas Instruments is a SimpleLink™ 2.4GHz Bluetooth® Low Energy wireless MCU supporting Bluetooth 5.1 Low Energy and proprietary 2.4GHz applications. It features a 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M3 application processor running at up to 48MHz, providing a compact platform for low-power wireless connectivity and embedded control.
The CC2640R2F integrates 128KB of in-system programmable Flash, approximately 275KB of total nonvolatile memory, up to 28KB of system SRAM, and an additional 8KB cache/system RAM. A dedicated ultra-low-power Sensor Controller with a 16-bit architecture and 2KB of ultra-low-leakage SRAM can autonomously handle sensor-related tasks while the main processor remains in a low-power state.
Its RF subsystem includes a dedicated Arm Cortex-M0 radio controller and supports Bluetooth 5.1 features including LE Coded PHY for long range, LE 2-Mbit PHY for higher speed, Advertising Extensions and Multiple Advertisement Sets. Receiver sensitivity is approximately -97dBm for standard BLE, reaching approximately -103dBm with the 125kbps LE Coded PHY, while programmable RF output power reaches up to +5dBm.
Integrated peripherals include a 12-bit 200ksps ADC with an 8-channel analog multiplexer, UART, I²C, I²S, two SSI interfaces supporting SPI/MICROWIRE/TI modes, timers, RTC, AES-128 security hardware, a true random number generator and an integrated temperature sensor. The RHB package version provides up to 15 GPIOs.
The device is optimized for battery-powered systems with a normal operating supply range of 1.8V to 3.8V. Typical current consumption is approximately 5.9mA in RX mode, 6.1mA when transmitting at 0dBm, 1.1μA in standby with RAM retention, and 100nA in shutdown mode.
The CC2640R2FRHBR is supplied in a 32-pin VQFN (RHB) package measuring 5 × 5mm, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The RHBR ordering option is supplied in 2500-piece large tape-and-reel packaging, is RoHS compliant, and is currently listed by TI as ACTIVE.
