The Texas Instruments INA240A1QPWRQ1 is a high-precision, automotive-qualified bidirectional current sense amplifier designed for accurate shunt-based current measurement in systems with large PWM common-mode transients.

The INA240A1-Q1 version provides a fixed voltage gain of 20V/V and supports a wide -4V to 80V common-mode voltage range, independent of its supply voltage. The negative common-mode capability enables reliable current sensing during flyback conditions commonly found in motors, solenoids and other inductive loads.

Enhanced PWM rejection significantly suppresses large common-mode voltage transitions found in PWM-controlled systems. This helps minimize output disturbances and recovery ripple, enabling more accurate in-line phase-current measurements in motor-control and switching applications.

The device offers high measurement precision with a maximum input offset voltage of ±25µV, maximum gain error of 0.2%, and gain-error drift of up to 2.5ppm/°C. It also provides excellent common-mode rejection, including approximately 132dB DC CMRR, together with a 400kHz bandwidth.

INA240A1QPWRQ1 operates from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply and supports bidirectional current measurement through its reference input, making it suitable for systems where current can flow in either direction.

The device is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications and is Functional Safety-Capable, providing supporting documentation for functional-safety system development.

The specific INA240A1QPWRQ1 ordering code is supplied in an 8-pin TSSOP (PW) package with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and tape-and-reel packaging for automated SMT assembly.
