The TNY276PN from Power Integrations is a TinySwitch-III energy-efficient offline AC-DC switcher IC designed for compact flyback power supplies. It integrates a 700V high-voltage power MOSFET, oscillator, high-voltage switched current source, selectable current limit and thermal shutdown circuitry. Its simple ON/OFF control scheme eliminates the need for complex loop compensation and helps reduce external component count.
TNY276PN supports a universal 85–265VAC input range and operates at a typical switching frequency of 132kHz. Frequency jittering helps reduce EMI filter requirements, while selectable current limiting through the BP/M pin allows designers to optimize continuous and peak output power. Integrated protection includes auto-restart or latching fault response, output overvoltage, undervoltage, short-circuit, open-loop and over-temperature protection.
Supplied in a through-hole DIP-8C package, TNY276PN supports flyback topology and delivers up to 19W open-frame output at 230VAC or up to 15W with universal input. It is suitable for chargers, AC-DC adapters, PC standby supplies, DVD/PVR equipment, set-top boxes, home appliances, industrial systems and auxiliary power supplies.
