The TPA3111D1PWPR from Texas Instruments is a high-efficiency mono Class-D audio power amplifier designed for speaker-driving applications in televisions, monitors, laptops, and consumer audio equipment. Its bridge-tied-load output architecture provides high output power in compact audio system designs.
The device operates from a wide 8V to 26V supply range and delivers up to 10W into an 8Ω load from a 12V supply at 10% THD+N. It can also deliver approximately 7W into a 4Ω load from an 8V supply. Class-D efficiency reaches up to approximately 94% with an 8Ω load, helping minimize power loss and heat generation.
Advanced EMI suppression enables filter-free operation or the use of inexpensive ferrite-bead output filters while meeting EMC requirements. The TPA3111D1PWPR features differential analog inputs and four selectable fixed-gain settings for flexible system configuration.
Integrated SpeakerGuard™ protection includes an adjustable power limiter and DC detection circuitry to help protect connected speakers. The outputs are also protected against shorts to ground, shorts to the power supply, output-to-output shorts, and excessive temperature, with automatic recovery supported for protection events.
The TPA3111D1PWPR is supplied in a 28-pin HTSSOP (PWP) package with an exposed thermal pad and operates from -40°C to +85°C. The PWPR ordering option is supplied on large tape-and-reel packaging with 2,000 devices per standard reel for automated assembly.
