The Lite-On LTE-4208 is a high-radiant-power 940nm infrared emitting diode designed for infrared sensing, optical transmission and detection applications. It is molded in a T-1 3/4 approximately 5mm through-hole package with a water-clear lens, providing a compact and directional infrared light source.
The device features a 940nm peak emission wavelength and a typical spectral half-width of 50nm. Its typical forward voltage is 1.2V at 20mA, with a maximum specified forward voltage of 1.6V under the same test condition.
LTE-4208 supports a maximum 50mA continuous forward current and a peak forward current of up to 3A under specified 10µs pulse conditions at 300pps. Maximum power dissipation is rated at 100mW.
The emitter provides a relatively narrow 20° viewing angle, making it suitable for applications requiring concentrated infrared radiation. Radiant intensity depends on the production bin, with the datasheet specifying values starting from 3.31mW/sr at 20mA.
The LTE-4208 is mechanically and spectrally matched for use with the LTR-3208 phototransistor series, making the combination suitable for optical sensing and emitter-receiver designs. It is also lead-free and RoHS compliant.
