The LITEON MOC3021S-TA1 is a single-channel random-phase optically isolated triac driver combining an infrared LED input with a bilateral triac output. It provides electrical isolation between low-voltage control circuitry and AC power-control circuits. The device features a 400V repetitive peak off-state voltage, a 15mA maximum LED trigger current, and an input-to-output isolation voltage of 5000Vrms.
It offers a minimum static off-state voltage rise rate of 1000V/μs, a maximum peak on-state voltage of 3V, and a typical input forward voltage of 1.15V. Its ambient operating temperature range of −40°C to +100°C supports reliable operation in a wide variety of isolated AC-control applications.
The MOC3021S-TA1 is supplied in a 6-pin surface-mount gull-wing package, with the “TA1” suffix identifying tape-and-reel packaging for automated assembly. Its non-zero-crossing operation makes it suitable for phase-angle control, lighting dimmers, motor-speed controllers, solid-state relays, household appliances, and isolated triggering of external power triacs or thyristors.
