The onsemi NCV7707DQCR2G is a highly integrated automotive door-module driver IC designed to control multiple electrical loads found in vehicle front-door electronic systems.

The device operates from a 5.5V to 28V supply range and combines motor, lighting and mirror-control functions into a single monolithic power IC. This high level of integration can reduce the number of discrete power components required in automotive door control modules.

For motor-control applications, the NCV7707C/D integrates six high-side and six low-side power drivers configured as six half-bridges. These include two half-bridges rated for approximately 0.75A, two rated for 3A, and two rated for 6A, allowing the device to control loads such as mirror-positioning motors, mirror-folding mechanisms, door-lock motors and safe-lock motors.

The device also includes four dedicated high-side lamp drivers. Two outputs are designed for LED loads with approximately 0.3A capability, while two additional outputs can drive incandescent lamp loads up to approximately 10W and can also be configured for LED operation with load-current capability up to approximately 2.5A.

For exterior-mirror systems, the NCV7707 includes a dedicated 6A high-side driver for mirror heating. It also provides an electrochromic mirror control function, including a 6-bit selectable output-voltage controller and an associated low-side driver.

All lighting outputs can be controlled using PWM. The device supports external PWM signals and also integrates a programmable internal PWM generator, providing flexibility for lamp dimming and LED brightness control. A programmable soft-start function can help drive loads with higher inrush current while controlling current stress.

Communication with the host MCU is provided through a 24-bit SPI interface with in-frame response. The interface supports output configuration as well as diagnostic feedback, allowing a central automotive MCU to monitor and control door-module loads.

An integrated multiplexed current-sense analog output provides advanced load monitoring capability. This allows the system MCU to evaluate output-load conditions and implement additional diagnostic functions.

The NCV7707 also includes a charge-pump output that can control an external MOSFET for reverse-polarity protection, helping simplify automotive battery-input protection designs.

Integrated protection functions include short-circuit protection, overvoltage protection and overtemperature protection. The device also provides very low current consumption in standby mode, making it suitable for vehicle body electronics that remain connected to the battery when the vehicle is parked.

The device supports a continuous supply voltage up to 28V and a clamped-load-dump transient voltage of up to 40V for less than 500ms under the conditions specified by onsemi. The operating junction-temperature range is -40°C to +150°C.

The NCV7707DQCR2G is AEC-Q100 qualified and PPAP capable, making it designed for automotive applications. It uses a thermally enhanced SSOP-36 EP (exposed-pad) power package and is Pb-free.
